Course Outline

Payroll is an essential skill, that’s in demand by employers. If you wish to handle the payroll, this is the perfect starting point.

During this payroll course we’ll build on your aptitude for figures and your basic knowledge of Excel to give you an invaluable skill. Among many other aspects, you’ll cover PAYE, methods of calculating pay, the role of HMRC (you’ll be using the HMRC Employer’s CD-ROM), sick pay, pensions and National Insurance.

To teach the principles of manual payroll.

Those who wish to learn the principles of manual payroll before moving on to learn computerised payroll.

All you’ll need is an aptitude for figures and have basic knowledge of the Excel program in order to create simple spreadsheets.

There are eleven lessons in this course which covers an overview of the functions of manual payroll and the PAYE system, how to calculate pay, the role of HMRC, NI contributions, methods of paying wages, SSP, SMP, deductions and much more.

The course will take around 28-30 hours.
