Course Outline

If you want to take your IT skills to the next level and prove you’ve got what it takes, this course is your logical next step from Part 1 CCENT.

You’ll learn how to work with point-to-point connections and frame relay, together with how to configure and troubleshoot VLAN and interswitch communications.

What’s more, you’ll learn how to tackle working with various routing methods and use trace methods to understand all of the various implementations available to you. The final part of the course focuses on the security aspect and how to protect your networks.

On completion of this course, you will receive a Pitman Training Course Completion certificate*.

Routing and Switching Fundamentals Part 2 ICND – Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices is designed to get you ready to take your Cisco ICND 640-816 exam*.

The course is designed to give you all the knowledge that you need to go on to become a Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician.

Session 1: Introduction, VLAN and Trunking, VLAN Trunking Protocol, Configuring and Verifying VLANs, Configuring VLAN Trunking, Configuring and Verifying VTP, Troubleshooting VTP, Implementing Switch Security.

Session 2: Spanning Tree Protocol Enhancements, Rapid STP, Per-VLAN Spanning Tree Plus, VLSM and Route Summarisation, Manual Route Summarisation, Autosummarisation, Running IPv6, Technological Requirements for IPv6, Resolving IP Addressing Problems.

Session 3: Routing Protocols, Open Shortest Path First, Enhanced IGRP, Verifying Connectivity, Troubleshooting Routing, Implementing Basic Router Security.

Session 4: Access Control Lists, Configuring ACLs, Monitoring ACL Configuration, Access List Troubleshooting, Network Address Translation, Fundamentals of Frame Relay, Point-to-Point Protocol, Virtual Private Networks, WAN Implementation Issues.

This course will take around 10 hours to complete.
